TxLx Announces Three Districts to Receive Coaching and Support

August 8, 2024

Launched in Fall 2020, the Texas Learning Exchange (TxLx) is now celebrating a year of creating and sharing tools and resources to support districts as they face another year of teaching and learning through a pandemic. TxLx is an initiative of Educate Texas, supported by Getting Smart, Learner-Centered Collaborative, and JoCo Launch.

To kick off our next phase of this work and go deeper in our support for leaders and educators, TxLx has launched a coaching cohort. The TxLx team has selected Lytle ISD, Ector County ISD, and Dallas ISD to provide technical assistance and coaching based on each team’s unique problem of practice. Each district has identified a goal and selected a guiding coalition to collaborate and work with over the next few months.

Lytle ISD

Lytle has recently adopted new curricula, and they have a variety of programs that are important for the success of their students. To help teachers leverage all of these tools and make decisions about the best strategies and tools, we will work with a guiding coalition of instructional leaders and educators to define a learning model that aligns the new curriculum and programs throughout the districts.

Ector County ISD

To ensure there is meaningful job-embedded coaching and support, Ector County has created site based coaches for each campus, as they have additional coaches across the district for various programs and needs. To make the most out of these coaches and ensure teachers get the support they need to be most effective in their roles, we are embarking on a project to define the roles of the coaches and what success looks like, and to align timelines and systems to achieve the desired outcomes.

Dallas ISD

The personalized learning schools we are working with are focused on creating learner profiles and structures to support change processes, including design teams, plans, and effective communication. They will use the design thinking approach to gather empathy and design solutions and process with their school teams.

Professional Learning

In addition to the coaching work we’ll be doing with each district team, we will be collaborating across the districts to provide feedback and guidance, and share lessons learned. We are excited to learn with these teams to create and share resources as we work on their problems of practices. We are also hosting monthly, free professional learning sessions that will feature Texas districts. Our recap and recording for the September session on Accelerating Learning is live, and you can register now for our October session on Measuring What Matters.

We will be sharing more along the way so stay tuned!
