These resources provide essential information on college and career advising topics for educators while also providing personalized guidance for your students and families to tackle the career exploration process with confidence.
My Texas Future is a comprehensive resource hub for navigating the postsecondary planning process. From career exploration tools like the Career Explorer or getting ahead on the post-secondary process with the Direct Admissions initiative, My Texas Future offers a wealth of resources to support students and families in making informed decisions about their future. To learn more, check out the My Texas Future Learning Institute to see how the site supports career and college exploration for Texas learners in middle school, high school, and as adults.
Along with My Texas Future, Texas OnCourse offers the Texas OnCourse Academy which is a free professional development tool for educators across the State of Texas. The Academy has over 30 learning modules on endorsements, graduation plans, career pathways, entrance exams, college applications, military academies, financial aid, and more. All these free modules are available remotely, and you can review them at your own pace. The Professional Learning Series features expert guest speakers who provide great insight on college and career topics, explore innovative strategies to support student success, and showcase helpful resources within the Academy and THECB initiatives.
The Texas OnCourse College and Career Readiness Curriculum is a great resource to introduce your middle school students to the career exploration process with lesson plans, group activities, and online modules. By planning ahead, students can broaden their opportunities, set meaningful goals, and take control of their future. Beginning this journey in middle school can ignite their interests early, making their aspirations more attainable and reducing the stress of starting the process later in high school.
