Da Vinci RISE High School, Los Angeles, CA
Opened in 2017, Da Vinci RISE High School is authorized by the Los Angeles County Board of Education as a Countywide Charter and serves approximately 250 students in grades 9-12. Da Vinci RISE embodies what students need from school: academic, social-emotional and personal support services. RISE ensures that students from the highest need areas have personalized options that fit their evolving learning journey. There are no rigid course sequences or grade levels. Instead, educators and students customize Personalized Learning Plans (PLPs), based on the student’s unique needs for staying on track for graduating with a diploma that counts for their individual post-high school goals. Through multiple learning options, students are able to participate in a real-world, project-based curriculum while also accessing internships, counseling, tutoring and job readiness training.
