RESCHOOL, Denver, CO

Learner Advocates are an essential component of the RESCHOOL model. Their primary role is to help the learner, in collaboration with their family or guardian, to navigate the learning ecosystem in service of their personalized goals through the coordination experiences, resources, and people. Over time, learners develop great confidence, responsibility, and autonomy over their own educational paths. In this model, parents and young people draw solutions and share resources to support their own networks and communities. The premise is that there are communities of people successfully navigating systems together, despite the odds, and society should be investing and learning with them because their creative solutions are working to open up new opportunities and alleviate systemic barriers.
