Scaffolding Learning Series #4: Consensus Placemats
The fourth and final session in our four-part learning series around understanding scaffolding and its’ role in acceleration. Through today’s recorded lesson, participants will gain an understanding of how consensus placemats can be used to support acceleration in the mathematics classroom.

This final session introduces a collaborative learning tool designed to increase student engagement and individual accountability. Using placemats helps teachers gauge student comprehension since everyone must contribute.
In addition to the recording for this session, handouts have been provided in both a PDF and Word version, as well as a completed example. At the end of this video are some additional scaffolding strategies that are encouraged as well.
