The Texas Learning Exchange School Instructional Supports Guide

The Texas Learning Exchange (TxLx) School Instructional Supports Guide was created for schools and districts traversing the unique instructional delivery models required for the 2020/21 academic year. The guide focuses on school and learning design with equity at the center, whole child outcomes including social-emotional learning, learner-centered teaching and leadership strategies, and maintaining relationships and community in times of distance and more.

The guide is written to align with and extend the strategic planning you and your teams had been working on prior to the pandemic. This also takes into account the “triage” maneuvers that you have taken since, and will allow you to merge them into an innovative approach for delivering teaching and learning with equity. To serve your learning community well and keep the work learner-centered, we believe it is vital to reflect upon what worked and what did not work, what ideas have yet to be implemented and why, and what needs are being expressed by all roles in the school or district. Ideas that cannot be immediately implemented can find a place in continued planning for the Spring of 2021, leading to a more equitable learning experience in the 2021-2022 school year.
